DRAPER, Utah, May 5, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: FLXT) http://www.flexpoint.com today announced that they have received a request for the design and
development of a sensor to be used in toys.
Clark
Mower, President of Flexpoint stated, “It is interesting that we continue to
receive requests for the design of specialty sensor products for toys. This
appears to be a fairly
high volume, low cost application of a two to three inch custom sensor
utilizing our patented Bend Sensor® technology. Based upon price
quote requests received from the customer it is likely Flexpoint will produce
between 500,000 and 2,000,000 sensors annually. While various rounds of
testing and validation for this sensor could take several months, if testing
goes as anticipated we expect to be in production of this sensor during the
calendar year. We currently supply sensors into the toy industry on a
recurring basis, but this would be the highest volume application of the sensor
in the toy industry since the early days of Flexpoint.”
